Hainan Island is the second largest island in China. It is 240 kilometers long, 210 kilometers wide and covers an area of 33900 square kilometers. It is composed of mountains, hills, platforms and plains. It faces Guangdong across Qiongzhou Strait in the north and the vast South China Sea in the south,. Most of the crops here are. Hainan has a tropical monsoon climate, with high temperature all year round and two seasons of drought and rain. Most of the precipitation is in the rainy season.
